The UDA Hosts Macon Action Plan Refresh for Public Input on the Future of Downtown

By December 19, 2019 No Comments

On Wednesday, December 11, the UDA in collaboration with NewTown Macon, Interface Studio, LLC and other community partners, hosted a Public Open House for the Macon Action Plan Refresh from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

During the event, the UDA provided participants with important information about the ongoing work of the Macon Action Plan (MAP). Created in 2014, MAP was developed as a comprehensive guide to support improvements throughout Macon’s Urban Core, which encompasses downtown and intown areas and neighborhoods.

With a primary focus on public input and engagement, the Macon Action Plan Refresh event provided participants with the opportunity to discuss and record their thoughts and wishes about specific improvements they desire to be implemented in Downtown Macon.

At the conclusion of the event, more than 50 comment cards were submitted that detailed how downtown can become a more kid-friendly, inclusive, greener and creative place for residents and visitors.

The UDA will continue collecting feedback from the public through this online survey. The survey is available from now until January 5, 2020.
